Barcelona have confirmed that they are yet to receive an offer from Manchester United for winger Pedro.
The Red Devils are heavily linked with making a move for the Spain international, which has only intensified following the departure of the club’s record signing Angel di Maria to PSG on Thursday.
It had been reported that Pedro was to sign a four year deal worth £3.5 million with the 2012/13 Premier League champions, who were set to trigger the player’s £22 million release clause.
But Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has quashed those rumours, and revealed that the club want Pedro to stay at the Camp Nou.
Bartomeu told TV3: “We have not received an official offer for Pedro.
“To my knowledge, Pedro isn’t going.
“I want him to continue [because] he is a fundamental player for us, and what’s more is that this season we have to play for six trophies.
“We need the best players possible, we would miss his experience and quality.”
