Saudi Arabia started off the season badly, in this game they were much better.
They had plenty of the ball in the closing stages there was no product to get them a goal as Uruguay held firm easily
Uruguay now need to beat Russia in Samara next Monday to top the group, while Saudi Arabia will head home following their final Group A game against Egypt.
Sterner tests await Uruguay and Russia in the last 16, with Group A’s qualified nations set to face off on Monday to decide who secures the top spot.
