The German international is wanted by Arsenal and Man United

Pep Guardiola is desperate to keep hold of Mario Gotze and after his comments last night, he has effectively ended Arsenal and Man United’s hopes of signing the player.

Gotze hasn’t been featuring too much in the Bundesliga at the moment but despite this, the club’s bosses have urged him to stay on at the club even though there has been interest from teams elsewhere.

Arsenal and Man United are two clubs who have been contemplating bids, with recent reports suggesting they both could offer as much as £50m for the star in January. With the lure of first-team football, it could tempt Gotze into a move.

Guardiola wants him to stay

However, Guardiola last night called the 23-year old a “super guy and a super character” according to the Express, and he also claimed “He is a top player and has enormous quality.”

He even went as far as to say “I love Mario Gotze.”

With Guardiola keen on keeping the midfielder at the club, it means he won’t be willing to let him leave anytime soon.
