The Turkish businessman was quick to deny any claims that it was for veteran keeper Petr Cech but said a deal is in the works for a Blues star.
He said: “We are going to make a few signings during the transfer window.
“We will sign a right-back and a centre-back, both will be foreign also we will invest in a young forward.
“We are not interested in Petr Cech but we are working together with Chelsea to sign a player.
“We have not held talks yet however, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas.
“If Cech does become available Besiktas would become a potential destination for Besiktas and I would support such a move.”
The identity of the mystery Chelsea player has not yet been revealed but there is speculation that it could be out-of-favour winger Mohamed Salah, either on a permanent move or just a loan deal.
