According to reports, Liverpool and Manchester United will go head-to-head as they try to sign Borussia Dortmund centre-half Mats Hummels.
The Germany international is apparently valued at £24.5 million and United boss Louis van Gaal has continued his interest in the defender from the summer.
However, he has a fight on his hands with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has admitted that there is nothing stopping him buying his former players at Dortmund.
“I have a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund and a good relationship with all the players there,” said Klopp.
“So there could be a possibility, if we need a player then we could try. At this moment there is nothing to talk about.”
