Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Alexis Sanchez won’t be back in action until the New Year.
The Chilean was pictured back in first-team training this week, and was potentially set to be fit in time for tonight’s game against Manchester City.
However, speaking after the 2-1 victory, Wenger confirmed Alexis wouldn’t be back in action until January 10th.
After praising his team’s performance throughout the 90-minutes, Wenger was asked about the forward, and he confirmed: “Alexis Sanchez will not be back until the 10th of January or so.”
The news will be a big blow to Arsenal and will dampen the mood slightly following their vital win.
