Goalkeeper WON’T face Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has confirmed that David De Gea won’t play against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

The Dutchman was speaking in his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League opener, and he confirmed that the Spaniard won’t be playing.

With De Gea missing, it’s likely that Sergio Romero will make his competitive debut for The Red Devils, after signing on a free transfer earlier in the summer.

Real Madrid Links

De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid for some time now and Van Gaal believes he’s not mentally ready to play competitive football.

“I think about the human being more than the player and I don’t think he can handle that,” said Van Gaal.
