Aston Villa Football Club have announced the signing of Jordan Ayew from French side Lorient.
The 23-year-old has agreed to a five-year deal after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the striker, who will now link up with his new teammates for the first team.
Ayew is seen as a potential replacement for Christian Benteke, who joined Liverpool last week.
However, with plenty of money left over from the £32.4million transfer, Tim Sherwood is expected to add more new faces in the next few weeks.
Ayew becomes the third player to join Villa from a Ligue 1 side, joining Jordan Amavi and Idrissa Gueye.
After the announcement broke, Sherwood spoke to the club’s official website and revealed his delight at the deal.
Sherwood said: “I’m really pleased to bring Jordan to the football club.
“He is a fantastic young player who is perfectly suited to the Premier League.”
