Chinese club confirm signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder in £9.8m deal

Guangzhou Evergrande have confirmed the deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho.

The Brazilian international has left the North London outfit after failing to impress Mauricio Pochettino since he took over at White Hart Lane last season.

Midfielder Struggled in England

Paulinho made 45 Premier League appearances for Spurs in his two years there, but overall failed to make a lasting impression after struggling to settle in England.

The 26-year-old was one of the signings made after the Gareth Bale sale to Real Madrid, as Tottenham splashed out £17million on the Brazilian holding-midfielder.

Major Loss

However, they are now losing out on roughly £8m after agreeing to sell him for just £9.8m.

Paulinho will now fly out to China in order to complete a medical and complete the necessary paperwork and personal terms.
