Florentino Perez to hold press conference this evening

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will be holding a press conference later this evening amid reports that Rafael Benitez could be getting the sack.

Madrid fell to an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of FC Barcelona in this weekend’s El Clasico at the Bernabeu and it’s believed the majority of the fans have already turned on Benitez, who was only appointed over the summer.

Benitez’s side are third in La Liga and are six points behind their rivals, and it looks like Perez is already willing to make a change.

Formal Statement

A formal statement has been released by the Spanish giants, and it reads: ‘The Real Madrid C. F. president, Florentino Pérez, will hold a press conference at 7:30pm CET this evening in the Santiago Bernabéu following the Board meeting.

‘Media outlets wishing to attend the event must present the appropriate professional accreditation from their media outlet, at gate no.59 of the stadium on Calle Padre Damián, from 6:15pm CET onwards.’
