Vokes signed with the Clarets from Wolves in 2012 could be off to the Championship outfit by the end of the day for Crouch plus a £9m buy-back clause.
Sean Dyche was reluctant to let go of his 6-goal forward in the middle of the season without signing a replacement. An agreement has since been reached which will see Crouch, just a day after his 38th birthday make his return to the Premier League.
The former England international has 106 goals to his name in the English top-flight, having played for teams like Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Portsmouth. He, unfortunately, has managed a single goal in 23 appearances for Stoke this season.
Vokes has faced his share of struggles in front of goal as well, recording 3 Premier League goals this season. He has fallen behind Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood in the Clarets pecking order.
Nathan Jones will be hoping to add the 29-year-old into Stoke’s ultimate objective of making it into the Championship playoffs. Burnley are tied in a relegation battle of their own this season.
Crouch might be in the twilight of his playing career but his 6 feet 7-inch figure paired with his experience still makes him a dangerous figure in the opposition box.
