Kevin De Bruyne speaks out about time with Blues

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has claimed he does not know or care why Jose Mourinho snubbed him during their days together at Chelsea.

The talented playmaker simply couldn’t get into the team under Jose during his time at Stamford Bridge. And, with first team opportunities very limited, he left the club for Wolfsburg in January 2014.

18 months later, he came to play for Manchester City, his £55million price tag was a hefty one, but he has shone under Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola.

“I’ve no idea and I don’t care [why he never won over Mourinho],” he told Four Four Two magazine.

“I waited four months, then I said to myself that I wanted to play football every week.

“I couldn’t get the game time I wanted, so leaving was the obvious choice.

“I wanted to start a new chapter – not be loaned out and come back to the exact same situation.

“It was a really smart move on my part. But of all the choices I have made in my career, I don’t regret one of them – even going to Chelsea.

“It didn’t work out. I wanted to play football; I didn’t; so I left.”

De Bruyne has scored 9 goals in 33 appearances at Man City, and has also been capped for Belgium 48 times since making his debut in 2010.
