Chelsea and City enter Neymar race
Premier League giants ready to battle Manchester United for Brazilian star
Manchester United have been joined by fierce-rivals Manchester City and Chelsea in the race to sign FC Barcelona star Neymar, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazilian international is reportedly growing unsettled in Spain and could make a shock transfer away from the Nou Camp, with the Premier League a likely destination.
United have been long-term admirers in the attacker, with reports throughout the summer suggesting a formal bid would be launched.
However, after failing to make a formal move over the summer, United now face a serious challenge in signing him, with Chelsea and City also interested.
The Premier League trio were boosted in their pursuit of Neymar by the player’s own father, when he admitted that if his son couldn’t agree terms on a new deal, he would leave the club.
Father Admits Troubles
“We are talking about a [contract] renewal but we need to solve some things,” Neymar Sr told Cadena SER.
“We need to know if Spain accepts our situation. It’s hard for us because we are receiving many attacks, from Brazil and from Spain. Neymar is a star and works his image here and from Brazil.
“We’re talking to everyone to know what to do with this matter because we don’t want to be in Spain two, three, four, five or 10 years and then we are caught by surprise by saying that our structure is wrong. We need to know if things are right for us.
“We must do the right things and know if Spain let us work. We need to stop these investigations. We want the peace of mind.”
Now reports in Spain are reporting that Chelsea, City and United are all ready to do battle for Neymar.
