Stoke shot-stopper would cost £8 million

Chelsea look to have moved swiftly to fill the outgoing boots of Petr Cech after it emerged they are close to completing a deal for Asmir Begovic.

Cech completed his move to Arsenal last week, and Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been keen to add Begovic to his goalkeeping ranks to supply able back-up to current number one Thibaut Courtois.

Begovic to Chelsea

The fee for the Bosnian shot-stopper looks set to be in the region of £8 million, a snip for someone of his quality but also a move which may surprise some considering he’d probably be number 2 at Stamford Bridge.

The Potters have been linked with numerous Chelsea players this week, and may look to include at least one player in return for Begovic, as well as the £8 million.

Patrick Bamford and Victor Moses are thought to be high on Mark Hughes‘ summer wish-list, and could be offered as bait to secure the deal.
