Former Chelsea star John Terry, who left the club at the end of the previous season to join Aston Villa, has said that the Antonio Conte managed side are the second best team in the Premier League.
Defending the title, Chelsea are 14 points short of Manchester City.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are currently placed second, three points ahead of Chelsea, having won more and lost fewer games in the process.
“I think if you look at it, pretty much Chelsea haven’t done too much wrong at all. I know City have gone there and won, which they would have been disappointed with”, Terry said, while appearing on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“But I think on the whole when you look at it, great squad of players, and probably bar Man City the best side in the league still”, he added.
“Man City have just raised the bar and I think everybody’s got to catch Man City now, that’s the only problem. They’ve got some great individual players, great going forward, great defensively, great midfield. I think bar City, that are setting the tone and tempo of the Premier League at the moment, they are the best squad of players in the Premier League”, he also said.
