Chelsea are set to make a late move to hijack Manchester United’s pending deal for Southampton fullback Luke Shaw.

Shaw, aged 18, has been a target for United for several months, and looks all set to move to Old Trafford for around £27 million.

He had previously turned down deals from Manchester City and Arsenal, in order to complete his dream move to the Red Devils.

However, despite the pending deal, Chelsea are keen to bring the England left back to Stamford Bridge.

And Mourinho is set to offer around £150,000 a week to sign for the club, with Chelsea, and United both looking into a deal before the World Cup finals this summer.

He is also planning to use the David Luiz money to table a £30 million bid.

Shaw has played 60 games for Southampton in the last two years, making 35 in the 2013/14 campaign.

The Shaw to United deal has been complicated by the renewal of Patrice Evra’s contract at Old Trafford.

European Cup winners Real Madrid are also keen on Shaw, with the Spanish La Liga side also looking into a possible deal.
