Blues want to sign Napoli striker in the summer

Chelsea have made Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain their main priority for the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Argentinian striker has been a long-term target of the Premier League, with several clubs being linked with him in the past few seasons, including Chelsea‘s London rivals Arsenal.

However, he eventually chose to swap Real Madrid for Napoli and he’s since become one of the most lethal strikers in European football.

Higuain On The Radar

The 28-year-old is contracted at Napoli until 2018, but with Chelsea set for a busy summer this year on and off the pitch, they could launch a formal bid for him worth around £40million.

Chelsea are concerned about Diego Costa‘s long-term future and are already highlighting potential replacements, with Antoine Griezmann also linked, but reports today have suggested that Higuain is set to become their main priority should Costa depart.

Higuain has netted 24 goals in 24 Serie A games this season, and it’s believed the Italian outfit want around £40m for him.
