This player is on Conte’s shortlist

According to reports, Chelsea may have to pay over the odds for centre-back Antonio Rudiger if they want to sign him in the summer.

The new Blues’ boss Antonio Conte has already pinpointed two players he wants for the next Premier League season, and Rudiger has been name-dropped alongside his current Roma teammate Radja Nainggolan.

However, Rudiger, 23, is on loan at the Serie A club from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. It is believed the Germany international’s parent club value him at a minimum £15.9 million.

Possible price increase

BUT if he represents Germany at Euro 2016 in the summer and performs impressively, there could be a £10 million increase in Rudiger’s price tag.

This means that Chelsea may have to fork out around £25 million to lure the centre-half to Stamford Bridge.
