Chelsea are planning to steal Alex Song away from West Ham and bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
West Ham have been trying to secure a free transfer after his loan spell from Barcelona last season. However, if Chelsea come in with a £5million bid Barcelona are ready to accept the cash.
Reports suggest West Ham have offered the 27-year-old a three-year contract worth £70,000-a-week – and are trying to convince Barca to let him go for free.
Song spent seven seasons in the Premier League with Arsenal before leaving for the Nou Camp in a £15m deal in 2012.
The cousin of Cameroon legend Rigobert Song made 31 appearances for the Hammers last season.
