Chelsea are closing in on their third major Summer signing with Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis close to securing his switch to the Premier League.

The left-back has a £21million buy-out clause in his contract, and with Ashley Cole leaving the club, Jose Mourinho is keen to find a quick replacement, and it’s believed that he is ready to meet the buy-out clause of the 28-year-old.

Luis could become the third player to join Chelsea from Madrid alone after they look set to secure the signing of Diego Costa and also midfielder Tiago on a free transfer.

Mourinho has been active already in the market signing Cesc Fabregas from FC Barcelona, and after selling David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain for nearly £50m, there are funds to spend for Mourinho as he looks set to build his own-looking Chelsea.

The Brazilian had a superb season for Atletico last season, and was a key part in their title winning side, and his superb performances have done enough to persuade Chelsea to spend over £20m on him.
