Fiorentina’s president held ‘positive’ talks with the Egyptian yesterday and is therefore expecting, and hoping, he will reach a final decision today.
It will cost Fiorentina £12.5m to complete the signing and it is thought that if Salah agrees to stay in Serie A, he will be offered a four or five year contract which has a release clause worth £49m.
Salah signed for the Blues in an £11m deal from Basel in January last year but has found himself surplus to requirements for the majority of the time.
He only featured 3 times throughout Chelsea league winning campaign last season, before moving out to Italy for a six-month loan spell.
After arriving at the Serie A side, he scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in his sixteen appearances, helping the club to the Coppa Italia semi-final.
