Arsenal & Manchester United are also after the player

Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan has categorically denied reports linking him with a move to last season’s treble winners Barcelona.

The Turkey international is rumoured to be joining Chelsea, and could be part of a swap deal involving Blues’ winger Juan Cuadrado.

Turan and his agent confirmed that he will leave Atleti this summer, with the 28 year old thanking fans for their support on Facebook.

Now he has taken to his official Twitter account to dismiss speculation of a move to Barcelona.

England is his most likely destination

He said: “Some reports that have appeared in the press are incorrect. I’m just on holiday and resting.”

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut also said that he had never held talks with Barca over a potential transfer. He added that his client is after a move to the Premier League.

“Arda intends to leave Spain this summer and his will is to play in the Premier League,” Bulut said.

“That is where he wants to take his career at this time.”

Along with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are also eyeing up a swoop for the highly rated attacking midfielder.

Turan has two years left on his current contract at the Vicente Calderon, and revealed earlier this week that Bulut had been in contact with “three or four clubs.”
