Jose Mourinho wants a new defender for added competition

According to the Express, Chelsea are looking to materialise a deal for Galatasaray left-back Alex Telles.

The Brazilian would be a replacement for his fellow countryman Filipe Luis, who’s return to Atletico Madrid is imminent.

Telles would also provide strength in depth at Stamford Bridge and would push Cesar Azpilicueta for his first team spot.

Italian media claim deal is almost done

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Blues are close to completing a deal for the former Gremio full-back.

However, the 22-year old could stay in Turkey. He only signed for Galatasaray at the beginning of last season for £4.3 million and his current contract runs until 2018.

If a move for Telles fails, Chelsea are looking towards FC Augsburg left full-back Baba Rahman. The Ghana international made a record amount of crosses in Bundesliga last campaign (160).
