Chelsea have reportedly agreed to pay part of striker’s Fernando Torres’ wage, despite him closing in on a move to Italian side, AC Milan.

The Spaniard is on a hefty salary at Stamford Bridge, and his weekly-pay could have prevented his transfer away from the club, with Milan unable to match his current £8m-a-year contract.

However, Chelsea have reportedly told Milan that they will help contribute to his wages for the rest of his scheduled contract at the club, and have agreed to pay nearly half of his yearly wage.

It’s believed they will pay £4.6million towards the contract in order to push through the transfer.
