Patrick Bamford could be set for spell in Premier League

Chelsea are reportedly ready to send Patrick Bamford out on loan at Southampton for the 2015/2016 season in order for him to experience the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has spent several loan spells away from Stamford Bridge but has developed into a top prospect due to his impressive goal scoring records.

Bamford was sent to League One MK Dons for his first loan-spell away from West London, before then joining Derby County in the Championship and now Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Impressive Scoring Record

The England U-21 international has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Boro and could help the club seal promotion back to the Premier League.

If the Championship side do get promoted, a loan move back to the Riverside Stadium could occur, but with promotion not guaranteed yet, Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning a loan-deal with a Premier League outfit.

Premier League Interest

According to reports, Southampton are the team interested in bringing Bamford in for a season and Mourinho is keen to get the deal over the line.

If the move does go through, it will be Bamford’s first experience of top-flight football and that’s what Mourinho wants so that he can judge the striker’s potential against the very best.
