Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the Blues will have to sell players before there are any new arrivals this summer.

The Premier League leaders are being careful not to be sanctioned by UEFA Financial Fair Play, as Manchester City were this summer.

Mourinho has already cut the playing staff since returning to the club who he managed between 2004 and 2007. Big sales have come in the shape of Romelu Lukaku (£28m), David Luiz (£50m), Juan Mata (£37m) and Andre Schurrle (£22m) and there are more are expected outgoing at Stamford Bridge.

The former Real Madrid manager said “Once more I think our transfer policy will be nice and quiet and (changes) will be a consequence of the players we sell and the funds that we make with the players that we sell.”
