Leicester defender to leave Prem champions

Leicester defender Ben Chillwell is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool over Arsenal.

The young left-back is set to leave Premier League champions Leicester this summer, and has been tracked by both the Reds and the Gunners.

The defender impressed on loan at Huddersfield during the first half of the season before returning to the King Power Stadium in January.

Arsenal have been keen on signing the teenager, and had a bid rejected last summer, but Liverpool have now jumped to the head of the queue.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner alerted Jurgen Klopp about Chilwell’s talents and Liverpool’s scouts have been impressed by what they have seen.

It’s thought that Chillwell would be worth around £8million with add-ons, despite being yet to make his Premier League debut, he made three appearances for Leicester this season, once in the Capital One Cup and twice in the FA Cup.

He currently earns £800-a-week at Leicester and the club had hoped to extend his deal which expires at the end of next season but it now appears that he is set to depart.
