Zinedine Zidane recently stated that Gareth Bale is close to leaving Real Madrid this season. Speaking on the Welshman’s future, the Los Blancos boss said,

“He wasn’t included in the squad because the club is working on his departure and that’s why he didn’t play.

“We’ll have to see what happens in the coming days. We’ll have to see if it goes through tomorrow if it does then all the better. Let’s hope, for everyone’s sake, that it happens soon. The club is dealing with the club that he’ll move to.”

“We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.”

With the 29-year-old set to leave the Bernabeu this summer, Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan are interested in signing him. They are one of the very few clubs ready to match the £600,000 per week salary the Welshman is said to be demanding of his new employers.

Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, is the highest-paid player in the league, earning £500,000 per week with Hebei China Fortune. However, Beijing Guoan have only ten days to sign Bale as the transfer window in China closes on 31st July.
