Manchester City look to be beating rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for Atletico Madrid star Koke.

Talks were held between City and Atletico officials at the Golden Palace hotel in Turin with Koke top of the agenda.

Koke has a £47million buy-out clause in his contract but is seen at City as a potential successor to Yaya Toure.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini is said to be a big fan of the talented Koke since his days in Spain as manager of Villarreal.

It is understood that City officials also asked Atletico about Spain Under-21s midfielder Oliver Torres, 20, who is currently on loan to Porto.
