Combined starting XI of Manchester United and Manchester City as they face each other Sunday

The first Manchester derby of the season is on Sunday as both teams look for bragging rights.

Manchester City travel to Old Trafford in the first derby of the 2015/2016 campaign, and with the game just days away, we thought now was the perfect time to put together our combined XI.

With both squads having an abundance of quality in their ranks, it was very tough to get the team down to 11, but in this article you can see who makes our Manchester XI.

GK: David De Gea (United)

The United keeper narrowly beats Cech to our starting 11. Since returning to the starting line up at Manchester United the Spaniard has continued his fine form  since last season. De Gea has already kept 3 clean sheet as well pulling off some match winning saves. His fine form shows why Real Madrid tried signing him in summer.

RB: Pablo Zableta (City)

The Argentine now a veteran of the City team has been impressive this season which has resulted in City not losing when he has played. His experience will be crucial.

CB: Chris Smalling  (United)

Having earned Louis Van Gaal’s trust Smalling has become a crucial part in the United side. Smalling has great experience in the fixture scoring in United’s 4-2 victory.

CB: Vincent Kompany (City)

If you had to pick a player which has the most passion for City it have to the be the skipper,Vincent Kompany. The City veteran will be looking to guide his side to victory through putting his body on the line.

LB: Matteo Darmian (United)

Since joining The Red Devils in summer the Italian has become a popular sight round Old Trafford. Although Darmian is naturally a right-back, for our team, we’ve pushed him over to the left.

RW: Memphis Depay (United)

The Forward has applied his trade on the wings this season at United and has been successful scoring 4 goals. His pace and trickery may give City some problems.

CM:  Bastian Schweinsteiger (United)

There isn’t a player who has played in bigger games than Schweinsteiger. The midfield general will look to run the game for United on Sunday. Will he be able to cope with the sheer pace of the City midfield?

CM: Yaya Toure (City)

Who else could it be! Yaya find his way in to the starting 11 due to his sheer physical ability.  Toure has appeared 11 times for City this season scoring 1 goal.

LW:  Kevin De Bruyne (City)

City’s record breaking signing has appeared to look at home since returning to the Premier League from Wolfsburg. With everything in  his locker De Bruyne will be looking to make a huge impact in the game.

ST: Wayne Rooney (United)

There has to be a place for England’s top goal scorer and United Captain. Rooney has been in fine form of recent scoring against his old club Everton.

ST: Sergio Aguero (City)

Aguerooooooo. Will Martin Tyler be screaming his name again? The Argentine will be looking to lead City to Victory. The Striker has scored 8 goals in 12  games so far this season.

So there is our combined Manchester XI.
