Atletico Madrid and Diego Costa have both made big hints that they would like to rekindle the relationship they had before the Spain international left for Chelsea.
It is no secret that the Madrid club would like the Brazil-born striker to return to the Vicente Calderon, with the 27-year-old unsettled at Stamford Bridge.
And club president, Enrique Cerezo, has made the biggest hint yet that Costa will return to Spain this summer, while Chelsea are yet to appoint a new manager for next season.
“We have a great relationship with our past players,” Cerezo recently said.
“Diego is a great player, but a Chelsea player.
“We will try to do our best and see what Chelsea say, it does not depend on us.
“We always try to bring the best players and Diego is one of them.”
While Cerezo will do his best in the summer to bring Costa back to Atletico Madrid, after missing out on the striker in January, the player himself has hinted at a return.
“You never know, look where Filipe is now,” Costa said in December.
