Thibaut Courtois has taken a chance to say thank you to Atletico Madrid, with the Belgian certain to return to Chelsea this summer.
The goalkeeper spent 3 years on loan at Atletico, winning La Liga last season and reaching a Champions League final. He announced his departure using his Facebook page. He also used the page to welcome any Atletico fans into asking him questions, and wrote ‘Thank you Atletico de Madrid and Atletico’s fans for 3 beautiful years!’
‘In order to say goodbye, all Atletico fans can ask me any question you want. I will answer the 10 best questions in a video message! Post your question in a comment on this post before Sunday 20 July – 23:59.’
Courtois played in every game for Belgium at the World Cup as they made it to the quarter-finals where they were eventually beaten by Argentina 1-0.
