Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Thibaut Courtois WILL be returning to Stamford Bridge. The keeper was signed by the Blues from Genk back in 2011 and he has spent the past three years on loan at Atletico Madrid.

In his time in Spain, he has established himself as arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He also helped Atletico clinch La Liga glory this past season. Jose Mourinho now wants him to return to England and do the same for Chelsea, with reports claiming Petr Cech will now be sold to make way for the Belgian.

It was unsure if he would return to Chelsea and play under Mourinho, spend another season out on loan, be placed on the bench as number two to Cech or be sold permanently. Well we have now been given an answer.

Speaking to Marca, Mourinho said: “When the World Cup in Brazil is over, Courtois will be coming straight back to Stamford Bridge – end of story.”

Can Courtois perform as well for the Blues as he did for Madrid in his three years there? Chelsea fans will certainly be hoping so!
