New Manchester Unired signing Angel Di Maria has revealed that he never wanted to leave the Spanish giants, and claims that he was forced out of the club.

Di Maria, who completed a £60M move to Old Trafford yesterday prior to United’s 4-0 Capital Cup humiliation by MK Dons, has said in a letter to Real’s fans that:

“This was never my desire. After winning La Decima (Real’s record 10th Champions League victory last season), I went to the World Cup with hopes of a new contract. This never materialised.

“All I asked for was something that would be fair. I have been fortunate to share a dressing room with many fantastic players, who are also great companions. I have sweated many times in this shirt, I always gave everything.

“Now I hope to make progress at Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world”.
