Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria is ready to snub a move to Manchester United in order to continue playing Champions League football.

Speculation of a possible move to Old Trafford for the Argentine has begun to pick up pace over the last few weeks, with rumours saying that Di Maria had already agreed personal terms with Louis van Gaal for a move.

However, it now appears that Di Maria, who will play in the World Cup final for Argentina against Germany on Sunday, has had a change of heart and would rather be playing in Europe’s biggest competition again next season.

United had a poor season under David Moyes last year, a terrible title defence seeing them finish 7th. However, the lack of European football hasn’t stopped some players from making their way to Old Trafford already, with Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera having completed moves.

If Di Maria was to leave Real Madrid this summer, it doesn’t look as if Manchester will be the destination, PSG and Juventus are also interested in the 27-year-old, and will both be playing in the Champions League next season.
