Chelsea striker apologises for actions against Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea star Diego Costa has commented on the bib saga that took place at White Hart Lane and has admitted he made a mistake.

The Blues striker was on the bench for the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, and after not being chosen to come on by Jose Mourinho, he took his bib off and threw it in the direction of the manager.

Costa and Mourinho‘s relationship has been strained in recent weeks, following a public bust-up against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, which was then followed up by the saga at Spurs.

However, Costa has spoken out about the bib incident and he’s admitted he made a mistake.

Costa Owns Up

“The bib [incident] is in the past. I made a mistake, but my relationship with Mourinho is amazing, we get on really well,” Costa told Onda Cero.

“There are things you need to control, but the bib thing was an impulse.”

Costa didn’t start in the defeat to AFC Bournemouth the following week, but he did start against FC Porto last night in the Champions League.
