The striker has made a £13.5 million move to the Toffees

Oumar Niasse has joined Everton on a permanent basis.

The striker has been in talks over a move for most of the day and the deal has finally been confirmed, with the fee believed to be about £13.5m.

The 25-year old has agreed a deal to stay with the club until the summer of 2020 and fans will be eager to see what the forward is capable of and whether or not he will be able to carry his good goalscoring form over to the Premier League.

Niasse was named Russian Premier League Player of the Year in 2015 and this year he has started with a bang, with the player scoring 13 times and nabbing 10 assists in 23 appearances – a more than decent record.

Speaking about his move, he said: “It’s a great day for me, a big dream to play in the Premier League and a big dream to play for Everton.

“Everton is one of the best teams in the Premier League and the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world. I know Everton is one of the big clubs here in England with history, the fans and the great players, so I’m very excited and happy to be here.”

The forward is expected to have clearance to play by the weekend, meaning his first game could come against Stoke. He won’t be able to feature in the Toffee’s midweek game but he will be paraded on the pitch beforehand.
