Borussia Dortmund are chasing Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko from Manchester City ahead of potentially losing star players in the transfer window.

Dzeko is looking to secure first team football, having played second fiddle to star strikers Sergio Agüero and Álvaro Negredo so far this season, and is open to offers in the January window.

Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to spend over £15million for the Bosnian, which is below Manchester City’s valuation of the player. Dortmund may be forced to pay out though, after their current star striker Robert Lewandowski is destined for title rivals Bayern Munich.

Jurgen Klopp is possibly facing competition from Italian team Inter Milan, who are keeping their eye on the player. Dzeko has only started one Premier League game since August.

Dortmund are also expecting bids from Manchester United for midfield duo Marco Reus and İlkay Gündoğan – which may help fund the move for Dzeko.

German international Reus has been in superb form this season, having scored 19 goals from midfield this season.

Reus has a £29.4million release clause in his clause which Moyes plans to activate in order to bring the German to the club. Former Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa made the same switch 18 months ago but has struggled to make an impact since then.

Gündoğan is also set to be included in the deal. The playmaker joined the German giants two years ago but has made only three appearances this term.
