Brazilian had dreams of playing for Chelsea

Douglas Costa has officially completed his move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, despite revealing his dream to play for Premier League champions Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has left Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in order to complete his move to Germany for an undisclosed fee and has officially signed a contract at the Allianz Arena.

Costa Wanted Chelsea Move

Costa has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in recent months, and even talked up a move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the year.

The forward admitted that it was a dream of his to play in the Premier League and play for The Blues, whilst then going on to praise Jose Mourinho as the best manager in the world.

However, the Brazilian will now be working for Pep Guardiola and will join up with his new team in the next few days.

Shakhtar Departure

The deal was announced by Shakhtar, who took to their official Twitter account to break the news by sending a tweet out with #ThanksDouglas.

Costa played 203 games for the Ukraine outfit, scoring 38 goals and winning eight titles, including the league title in five consecutive seasons.
