Southgate’s side will play two international friendlies this month.

England manager Gareth Southgate has given injury update on three players. He has confirmed that Harry Kane will be one of three players absent for today’s friendly clash with Brazil at Wembley.

The Bayern Munich striker picked up an ankle injury during the most recent Bundesliga clash against SV Darmstadt 98. His injury also hurt Bayern ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal against Arsenal.

The 30-year-old missed out the training session and spent time in the gym. While talking to the media in his pre-game press conference, Southgate announced that three players will be sidelined due to injury. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Ajax’s Jordan Henderson will also miss out along with Harry Kane.

Southgate spoke to reporters, “Tomorrow, no Harry Kane, no Jordan Henderson, no Cole Palmer. I would say Cole and Hendo have a better chance of Belgium than Harry, he’d be extremely doubtful for that.”

He also added: “It’s a brilliant opportunity for other players. We need to see other players ahead of the Euros. If we were playing lesser teams you’d still have that little question in your mind; if they played well, OK, how are they going to be against the next level of opposition? From our perspective, it’s a great exercise and a great opportunity for them.”
