Sam Allardyce has today been confirmed as the new England manager on a reported two-year contract.

The news comes after the FA agreed an alleged £3 million compensation deal with Allardyce’s former club Sunderland.

The 61-year old will be in charge of England’s 2018 Russia World Cup qualifying campaign and the tournament itself should England be successful in qualification.

His first game as the Three Lions’ boss will be a World Cup qualifier away at Slovakia on Sunday 4 September.
