Funny old game, football.

It’s time for our SECOND Power Ranking’s list, and there’s quite a lot to talk about this week, so let’s jump straight in and see who has had a good week.. and who could really do with some cheering up.

NUMBER 10 – WAYNE SHAW

You all know the story, the man ate a pie, resigned, and now there are reports suggesting he is being investigated by the FA, all over a pie.

Wayne Shaw didn’t turn out for Sutton against Arsenal, which is why he had the time to tuck in to a pastry treat, but he’ll certainly be wishing he hadn’t done, a man that has become a living meme, is now facing some potentially very serious trouble.

NUMBER 9 – CLAUDIO RANIERI

Almost nobody agrees with Leicester City’s decision to sack Claudio Ranieri, not even a year after he won the Premier League crown for the Foxes, but they made the decision and it’s done, with Ranieri even releasing an emotional heartfelt statement, stating that his dream had “died”.

You can’t help but feel for the man, and while many wonder what will be next for Ranieri, most of us just wish we could give him a hug, poor guy.

NUMBER 8 – The entire Leicester City squad

Yes, all of them.

If reports are to be believed, then members of the senior squad at Leicester actually went to the board and complained about Ranieri, and it is being reported that this played a huge part in the Italian being dismissed, if this is true, then not only are the squad having a bad week for obvious reasons, but they deserve to be on here purely for that act alone.

NUMBER 7 – DELE ALI

Sent off during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Genk that saw them crash out of the Europa League, and it was a bad challenge, Ali is still young and still has all the time in the world to improve, but challenges like this will almost always lead to a dismissal, and he’ll feel disappointed that this was the kind of mark he left on the game.

NUMBER 6 – WAYNE ROONEY

Rooney has found himself subject of all sorts of rumors this week, links to China and former club Everton have been doing the rounds, but it seems to be very clear now that Jose Mourinho will not be offering Rooney a cemented place in the Manchester United starting line up, which means he may well have to look elsewhere, away from the club he made history at.

NUMBER 5 – ROBERTO MANCINI

Although outside of the Premier League, reports are suggesting that Mancini may be on his way back to the Premier League, and he has become the odds on favorite to take over from Ranieri at Leicester City, this could be either good or bad, depending on how Mancini feels about the English top flight, ever since his exit from Manchester City.

NUMBER 4 – JOEY BARTON

Sean Dyche has hailed Joey Barton’s influence and attitude at Burnley after branding last week’s controversies as ‘pantomime stuff’.

Barton hit the headlines for a couple of off-the-ball clashes with Lincoln’s Matt Rhead and Terry Hawkridge during the FA Cup defeat at Turf Moor a week ago – but he seems to have more or less gotten away with it, with even his manager praising him, so overall a good week, especially considering it appears the whole ordeal will just be, well, forgotten – unusual for Barton.

NUMBER 3 – HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

Mkhitaryan seems to improve and improve at Manchester United, and seems to be able to provide whenever called upon, scoring again for Manchester United as they eased through into the next round of the Europa League, he continues to prove himself under Jose Mourinho.

NUMBER 2 – ANTONIO CONTE

The Chelsea boss remains high on the list simply because everything seems to be going right for him, on and off the pitch.

No matter what he does, the Italian oozes class and respect, and has continued to keep his team at the top despite transfer rumors, the reported Diego Costa “bust up”, and more.

NUMBER 1 – Jose Mourinho

Through to the next round of the Europa League, and in the EFL Cup Final, and still in the FA Cup, they may not be challenging for the Premier League title right now, but in his first season Mourinho has the chance still to win the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and the Europa League, and what a first season as United boss that would be.
