Sevilla are said to be ‘bracing themselves’ for an offer from Arsenal for Grzegorz Krychowiak.

The Polish international midfielder has a £21.4m buyout clause in his contract, which the Gunners are reportedly ready to meet.

Arsenal have been left frustrated at missing out on midfield transfer targets this summer, letting both Morgan Schneiderlin and Geoffrey Kondogbia get away from their grasp.

Manager Arsene Wenger seems set to rectify this by going after Krychowiak.

Krychowiak, 25, made 204 tackles and interceptions last season, more than anyone else in the Spanish top fight. He was also named in the La Liga 2014/15 team of the year.

He joined Sevilla only last year from French side Reims, and has over 20 caps for Poland.

He normally plays as a defensive midfielder, but has been known to help out in central defence as well.

Krychowiak scored in last season’s Europa League Final win over Ukrainian side Dnipro.
