Arsenal are considering a move for one of their former youth players, Oguzhan Ozyakup of Besiktas.

Midfielder Ozyakup spent four years with the Gunners, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2008-09 as well as two Premier Academy League titles.

However, he only one first-team appearance in a League Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town, and left in 2012 for £500,000.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is taking another look at the player as he looks for reinforcements in midfield when the January transfer window opens.

He may not come cheap though, as Besiktas are believed to be holding out for £15m.

Ozyakup, now 23, also spent time as a youngster in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar.

He has 12 caps for Turkey, and scored his first international goal last month against the Netherlands, who he ironically represented at youth level.
