Wenger admitted his transfer plans last night

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he wants to sign an experienced centre forward before the transfer deadline.

The Gunners had a £29.3 million bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette turned down earlier this week.

However, that setback isn’t stopping Wenger from being active in the market.

“At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of experienced players,” said the Frenchman after his side’s 2-1 win over the MLS All Stars in San Jose, USA.

“But let’s not forget we still have a few players at home. There are also a few players who did not play, like (Santi) Cazorla and of course (Mesut) Ozil and (Aaron) Ramsey are at home. (Olivier) Giroud is also not here.

“So we have options but we will still look outside to find one more.”

Arsenal have already signed three players this summer: defender Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers, midfielder Granit Xhaka from Burussia Monchengladbach and striker Takuma Asano from Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
