Former Swansea City and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly reluctant to take positions at other clubs, as he is holding out for one he really wants, Chelsea.

Current Stamford Bridge manager Jose Mourinho is under increasing pressure this season, after a string of poor results.

According to The Sun, Blues chiefs are ready to stick with the Special One, but Rodgers is very keen on the post should it become available.

So much so in fact, that he is apparently stalling at offers while hoping he gets his move to West London.

He believes he can convince Roman Abramovich and the Blues board that he is the right man for the job.

They may decide to take him in for the short-term, however, and maybe have someone else in mind for further down the line.

Rodgers was dismissed from Liverpool in October. Ironically, he was invited to join Chelsea’s youth academy by Mourinho back in 2004, and had a spell as reserve team manager at the Premier League champions.
