The Brazilian full back left AS Roma and sign for the current Premier League champions Chelsea.
“‘I came here because it’s a great team with a great history,” Emerson said to Chelseafc.com. “English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old.”
He signed a 4,5 year contract and will wear shirt number 33, he didn’t feature in Roma’s Champions League campaign thus far and will be eligible to play for Chelsea in the Round of 16 clash against FC Barcelona.
“He [Emerson] is a young and talented player who strengthens the squad and will provide excellent competition for places as we pursue success in three different completions,” Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said.
