They will be discussing the future of their manager

According to Sky Sports News HQ, Everton football club have called an emergency board meeting for today in order to contemplate the future of Roberto Martinez.

The Toffees’ boss is under pressure after what has been a disappointing season for the Merseyside club.

They are currently 11th in the Premier League table and have been knocked out of both the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup at the semi-final stage.

It is widely rumoured that Martinez will be sacked, whether it is today or at the end of the campaign.

Replacements?

Ajax chief Frank de Boer and Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe have emerged as the early favourites to replace the Spaniard in the Goodison Park dugout.

There has even been talk that outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini could take over in the summer.
