Which are the Football Teams With The Most Premier League Titles ? The English Premier League is no doubt a top flight league, the Premier League is among the top five most popular European leagues. if not the best. So we have decided to list only the clubs that have ever won the English League since it’s inaugural season in back 1992/93. The premier league is very well known for being the most competitive of the European Leagues that presents four top clubs ( the top four best clubs at the end of the season ) to the UEFA Champions League.

In the 1992/93 season when it was officially renamed as the Premier League ,23 trophies were given out to clubs after the End of last season that saw Chelsea Football Club claim their fifth domestic league title, their fourth Premier League title. We have also seen Manchester United dominate the league for the past ten years but how many trophies has it won? you will find out in the list below.

Manchester United, Chelsea F.C, Arsenal Football Club, Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers are the only clubs that have won at least one title among the 23 trophies , however, we are about to find out how many titles each club won in our list of the Football Teams With The Most Premier League Titles.

5. Blackburn Rovers – 1 Premier League Title

Starting the rundown of the Football Teams With Most Premier League Titles is Blackburn Rovers, The Rovers were the 1994/95 premier league season champions. They won the league on just a one point margin above Manchester United who had finished the league with 88 points and Rovers won the title with 89 points in 42 league games. Footballers like Alan Shearer, the Top Premier League Top Scorer of All Time and the Player with Most Premier League Hattricks and also Henning Berg, one of the players to have won the Premier League with two different clubs, Tim Sherwood and many more were also playing for Blackburn at the time.

It was that season that also saw Alan Shearer take the Premier League Golden Boot and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards with his club, Blackburn Rovers manager Kenny Dalglish winning the Premier League Manager of the Season award. 

4. Manchester City – 2 Premier League Titles

Manchester City is the other club to have won the Premier League title and it so far has two titles as they won their first in the 2011/12 premier league season. They won this title on an eight goal difference above City rivals Manchester United. This was the first time the English Premier League was won on a goal difference margin.Champions Manchester City and rivals Manchester United all finished the league with 89 points.

Vincent Kompany, their captain was the Premier League Player of the season, Roberto Mancini was the then club manager. Argentine Striker Sergio Aguero was the Club Player of the Year after he was the Club top goalscorer. Manchester City won their second Premier League title in the 2013/14 season when they topped the table with 86 points in 38 games with only two points above the second club Liverpool Football Club . City this time had only two players in the PFA Team of the Year i.e Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure.

3. Arsenal – 3 Premier League Titles

In 1997/98 season, Arsenal won their first Premier League title just after five seasons when the English Football League was changed to the premier league. They won the league by a point from Manchester United, overhauling an eleven point lead in the process. The Gunners won their second title in the 2001/02 season, a season they completed as champions and having scored in every league game, Barclaycard was the new league title sponsor.

Arsenal’s third premier league trophy was in 2003/04, a season that stands to be as their best ever.This time Arsenal won the league undefeated in any league game, a record that still stands and might stay for several years unbeaten. They were named ” The Invincibles ” for this record they had made. Though Arsenal have yet to win another League title as it is now over ten years since they last won the league. 

2. Chelsea – 4 Premier League Titles

After winning last season’s Premier League title, Chelsea now comfortably sit second to Manchester United as the top teams to have won the Most Premier League as they now have four titles to their name. The Blues have a total of five English League titles as their first came in the mid 1950s before the league was changed to the Premier League in 1992.

Chelsea’s first Premier League trophy, their second league title came in the 2004/05 season after Arsenal had finished the previous season unbeaten though this time were second. The Blues continued to win the league the next season before manager Jose Mourinho was fired by the Club Owner Roman Abramovich later in 2007. The Club got several managers till of the 2009/10 season when Carlos Ancelotti helped the club reclaim the league, scoring 103 goals and winning the FA Cup. Chelsea won the fourth title last season under Jose Mourinho who had returned at the club the previous season.

1. Manchester United – 13 Premier League Titles

Manchester United finally are the club that have won the most Premier League trophies as they already have 13 titles and they are the top club with most English League titles ( 20 trophies ), Liverpool Football Club are next with 18 titles though they still have yet to win the Premier League title. United are the club to have won the first premier league title, winning it the second season before Blackburn Rovers won it in the 1994/95 season.

They again won it for two consecutive years after Rovers had won it with only one point a head of them the past season that could see them win it the third time in a row. Again they were beaten by Arsenal not to win their third title in a row after the Gunners won it in the 1997/98 season, their first time. United eventually struggled and won the title for three consecutive seasons till again when Arsenal got in to win their second, by then United had won seven Premier League titles. The Red Devils for now they have won it for thirteen times and they  stand very comfortably at the top of the list as they have a 9 titles gap between them and the second club Chelsea Football Club.
