Liverpool are on the verge of completing a £7.2m deal for Barcelona defender Martin Montoya, according to reports.
Montoya, 24, has mainly been a backup for Dani Alves during his time with the La Liga side.
Glen Johnson appears to be on his way out of Anfield, so manager Brendan Rodgers is making plans for a replacement.
Liverpool are reported to have made a £7.2million bid for his services, and One World Sports says the deal is close to going through.
Montoya is a popular figure among fans at the Nou Camp, so they may express their displeasure at news of his impending departure.
He joined Barcelona’s famed youth system La Masia, at just eight years old, and made his first-team debut in 2011 against Real Sociedad.
